Hajjat Mutagubya was a devoted mother, a respected community leader, and a tireless advocate for the rights and dignity of women and vulnerable communities across Uganda.
Daughter of the late Hajjat Mwajabu Bint Lau and the late Hajji Abubakari Kabuye, she was raised with a deep sense of faith, service, and community responsibility — values she carried throughout her life and passed on to all those she raised and mentored.
She served with distinction as a Community Councillor, representing the voices of ordinary citizens and working tirelessly to address their needs at the local government level. Her commitment to public service was unwavering.
As a Women's Rights Activist, she championed gender equality, fought against discrimination, and empowered women to claim their rightful place in society — inspiring a generation of female leaders across her community.
The Foundation that bears her name was established by her family in 2022 to honour her memory and continue the work she began — serving communities, uplifting families, and building a more just and equitable Uganda.
Her legacy is one of compassion, courage, and unwavering commitment to justice.

The Hajjat Mutagubya Foundation was established by her family and loved ones to honour her memory and continue the work she began.
She believed that every child deserved an education, every family deserved dignity, and every community deserved the chance to thrive.
Through this Foundation, we carry forward her vision — investing in education, health, economic empowerment, and sustainable development for the most vulnerable communities in Uganda.
